Vulva / Yoni Mapping in Lisbon

Vulva/Yoni Mapping: Exploring
Your Genital/Pelvic Home

Yoni is the Sanskrit word for “womb” or “sacred source,” encompassing the whole of your genitalia—from the internal organs (womb, ovaries, fallopian tubes) to the external pleasure parts (clitoris, labia, vaginal entrance), as well as the vagina and cervix that bridge them.

This part of your body is exquisitely sensitive to safety and danger—your intuitive antenna. It can radiate immense pleasure, endure pain and transformation through childbirth, hold beauty and wounding from relationships, and continually evolve with age.

Carrying so much sensation and change, the yoni often holds tension, numbness, or mystery. Vulva mapping therapy offers both learning and release, easing what is held and reawakening pleasure as your birthright.

What is Yoni Mapping Therapy?

Yoni Mapping Therapy, also called Vulva Mapping or DeArmoring, is a profound investment in your physical, emotional, and sexual state of being. It is a hands-on treatment designed to deeply ground the body and nervous system, teach self-appreciation/love, and to release deeply stored emotions and tensions in this part of the body.

Mapping sessions provide a space for you to recall important memories about your yoni – where you can unearth buried stories that connect the dots between your past and present embodied self. Sessions help you to literally discover yourself through a 3D  ‘tour’.

If you’re doing a series of yoni sessions, I give you ongoing information and practices you can take home to use and expand into for further growth.

Benefits of Yoni Mapping

Yoni Mapping Therapy in Lisbon is not goal-oriented toward ‘fixing’ anything such as a chronic condition. Instead, it’s an invitation to discover and accept what’s currently expressing itself in your body. It doesn’t replace appropriate medical or mental health care, but is wonderful for a number of situations. These are:

  • Getting to discover a variety of different sensations in your pelvic area
  • Learning more specifics about self-care, boundaries and connection with your yoni
  • Receiving nurturing touch without a specific goal
  • Inviting healing steps in response to a trauma, violation, surgery, abortion or miscarriage
  • Relaxing pelvic tension or restoring sensation after numbness or learned bracing
  • Discovering alternative routes from old sexual habits
  • Embracing and honoring your body after an ended relationship
  • Emotional preparation for pregnancy
  • Reconnecting with your yoni after a physically or emotionally difficult birth experience
  • Welcoming in new pelvic delight after menopause

Your Yoni/Vulva Mapping Coach in Lisbon

Before entering the field of sexology, I was a professional dancer, expressive arts therapist and yoga teacher. I’ve had a lifelong respect for the expressive body and absolutely love serving women who want a more connected relationship with themselves.

I began working in women’s health and wellness decades ago with The Maternal and Child Health Center in Cambridge, MA, which supported pre, peri, and post-natal physical therapy and with Feeding Ourselves in Arlington, MA, which offered an experiential support program on eating disorders. I have an MA in Dance Movement Therapy, and I  worked primarily with chronic pain patients in a rehabilitation hospital.

I became certified as a Somatic Sexologist and Embodied Sex Coach through the Sea School of Embodiment, and earned my Somatic Sex Educator and Coach certificate through the Institute for Relational Harmony Studies. I’ve also trained in Genital De-Armoring with Rahi Chun and in Vaginismus work with Dr. Martha Lee.

I work with adult vulva-owners of any age, from those who are new to learning about their body, to those eager to feel/find more sensation, to those recovering from surgery or medical treatment, to those going through confusing hormonal changes, to those who’ve lost touch with their body after physical or emotional trauma.

Clients emerging from these sessions report having a whole new relationship to their vulvas, including a deeper connection and sense of internal aliveness.

Yoni Mapping Isn't For Those…

  • Under 18 years of age
  • Who’ve had recent surgery, childbirth, or intense medical treatment (please wait at least 8 weeks)
  • Are in a current traumatic or unstable emotional state (please seek a psychologist first)

A Yoni Mapping Therapy Session in Lisbon

Yoni Mapping Therapy is a three-hour session that includes several parts – 1) time to discuss what’s going on in your life related to this part of your body (trauma, fears, childbirth, scar tissue, menopause, etc), 2) education around anatomy with models and illustrations where desired, 3) establishing consent for touch, then massage of the whole body, abdominal area, and external and internal genitalia according to what is consensually agreed to.

Sessions provide a sense of safety, time to slow down and listen to your body, space for curiosity and agency. In this container, you can make new discoveries, release what no longer serves you, and invite in a new sense of possibility and joy. The yoni is the center of your power and creativity, the place where ideas and life are literally birthed into existence. Vulva Mapping Sessions give you insight into these aspects of yourself.

How Many Yoni Mapping Sessions Do I Need?

One Yoni Mapping session is a powerful experience, while a few sessions over time will bring you deeper insight and help you to integrate what you’re learning.
